The impact technology has on our lives increases and becomes more complex every day.

That makes it more important than ever to cultivate inquiry, education, research and practices that support and encourage the development, deployment and governance of technology that advances the public interest.

As an academic community that believes in technology’s potential to have a positive impact on public life, Missouri S&T is honored to be recognized as a member of the Public Interest Technology University Network (PIT-UN).

Public interest technology refers to a set of practices that guide the design, deployment and governance of technology in ways that advance the public interest. PIT-UN fosters collaboration among colleges and universities in support of developing the field. Currently there are 60 U.S.-based members and four international, including 70 percent of the nation’s top tech schools.
